After an overnight update by Google, now the Google group of apps will open but when used the app just closes and the tablet goes back to the home screen. There is a box that pops up every time saying app has stopped working. I can access Google and outlook and other sites through the internet okay. Update MacOS: An update could make your Wi-Fi smooth again. Click System Preferences on the Dock and choose Software Update. If your Mac is out of date, install any and all updates. Apple says that macOS Catalina will end support for 32-bit apps. The firm believes these old apps won’t offer a good user experience on a modern macOS version. In reality, this is not the first time Apple discontinues 32-bit apps. In 2017, the release of iOS 11 put an end to all 32-bit apps. Apple also encourages third-party developers to. The lack of support is in part due to Apple discontinuing support for 32-bit apps, with macOS now only functioning with 64-bit versions, forcing developers to update their software to 64-bit if.
anonyme4321,
Thank you for your prompt reply!
I read the link to the previous discussion thread that you suggested, and this is what I did that seems to have fixed my problem:
From nbar's recommendation I did:
Open Finder, from the menu bar Go.. > Go to Folder...
copy and paste the following path: ~/Library/Preferences/
Deleted the following item:
com.apple.appstore.plist
This item was not there:
com.apple.installer.plist
Then from Carolyn Samit's recommendation I did:
Open Finder, from the menu bar Go.. > Go to Folder...
copy and paste the following path: ~/Library/Caches/
Deleted the following folder:
com.apple.appstore
So actually, thank you to all three of you!

If you've upgraded to macOS Mojave or later, follow these steps to keep it up to date:
To find updates for iMovie, Garageband, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and other apps that were downloaded separately from the App Store, open the App Store on your Mac, then click the Updates tab.
To automatically install macOS updates in the future, including apps that were downloaded separately from the App Store, select ”Automatically keep my Mac up to date.” Your Mac will notify you when updates require it to restart, so you can always choose to install those later.
If you're using an earlier macOS, such as macOS High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, or earlier,* follow these steps to keep it up to date:
To automatically download updates in the future, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click App Store, then select ”Download newly available updates in the background.” Your Mac will notify you when updates are ready to install.
* If you're using OS X Lion or Snow Leopard, get OS X updates by choosing Apple menu > Software Update.
